Alessandra is versed and fluent in English, French, Italian, Spanish and knows fair German. She holds a B.A. in Anthropology/Sociology from Middlebury College, Vermont and two Masters in Social Work and Medieval Italian Literature respectively, from Oxford University in the UK. Alessandra has lived, worked and volunteered in Mexico, Peru, Italy, Australia, France and Hawaii, to name a few. She has studied and has a passion for paleography (the study of ancient handwriting). Her award winning experience in Social Work gives her a special insight into addressing cultural and children’s needs. She is so grateful for the opportunity to work with Bear Medicine Publishing on projects that will make a difference in the world!
Alessandra is currently employed with the State of Hawaii’s Child and Adolescent Mental Health Division as a Program Monitoring Specialist and is also the Director for a local non-profit, the Captain’s Club (captainsclubhi.org), that offers free sailing lessons to children in foster care .
